As many as 23,150 persons tested positive for Covid-19 in Gujarat in last 24 hours, as per the Covid bulletin issued by the state health department on Saturday evening. A total of 15 deaths were recorded in the state during this period. The death toll due to Covid has reached 10,230.
Ahmedabad city recorded 8,194 cases and five deaths. Vadodara city had 2,823 cases. The count in Surat city dropped below 2,000, with 1,876 testing positives in 24 hours. The city had 2,124 cases the previous day. One more patient in Surat city succumbed to the infection.
Rajkot city had 1,707 cases and one death. Surat rural and Bhavnagar city reported three deaths.
Among other places, Vadodara rural had 886 cases, Surat rural 612, Anand 565, Jamnagar city 563, Gandhinagar city 547, Kutch 462, Bharuch 448 and Bhavnagar rural 401.
As many as 10,103 patients recovered from Covid-19 in the state during the day. The active caseload has reached 1,29,875.
Over 1.88 lakh individuals received the Covid vaccine on Saturday. The cumulative vaccination coverage in the state is over 9.62 crore.
