Gujarat University has sparked a new issue by cancelling online sessions and directing students in various departments to attend in-person classes at full capacity, violating government guidelines for reopening schools, universities, and other educational institutions in the state.
“Students from various GU departments have been instructed to attend oncampus education beginning December 13 due to the discontinuation of online education.” Around 40 students attended in-person classes on Monday, according to sources.
So far, no government directive has been issued to stop online education and return to in-person classes.
“This is a clear violation of government regulations. Only half of the class strength is allowed to attend in-person classes, according to the rules. The remaining 50% of students are required to attend the next day. Students can attend classes in any number they want, according to university departments “according to a source
According to government guidelines, attendance is not required for in-person classes, and students who do not attend in-person classes should continue their education online.
