Boss warns employee on charging phones at workplace, referring it to as ‘electricity theft’

A statement from a boss advising his staff not to charge their phones at work has gone viral.

Business News

It is a very normal practise among office workers to charge their phones at their workplace, even at the conclusion of a long day. However, this manager takes such behaviour very seriously.

A frustrated supervisor was fed up with staff charging their phones at work, so he created a note accusing them of ‘stealing of electricity.’ This note was submitted on Reddit with the title, “One of my boss’s apparently endless series of absurd notes. It’s fantastic here.”

The boss became so angry after the note went viral on the internet that he threatened to withhold money from the salaries of staff who charge their phones. “Nobody is entitled to ‘charge up’ any mobile phone or other electrical equipment on these premises,” reads a notice signed by the supervisor and posted by an employee. It’s a case of electricity theft, and you might discover a deduction on your pay. “Telephones should be turned off.”

‘Under the new laws, companies could face penalties for contacting staff outside of office hours,’ as per reports . Companies would also be required to contribute to the cost of remote working expenses, such as higher electricity and internet bills.’ “
