Nawazuddin Siddiqui lost out to Scottish actor David Tennant in the Best Performance by an Actor category at the 49th International Emmy Awards, which took place at Casa Cipriani in New York City late Monday night (US Eastern Time).
Serious Men, a Netflix film starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui, was nominated in this category. Roy Nik in Israel’s Normali and Christian Tappán in Columbia’s The Great Heist were the other candidates in this category.
He was happy and overjoyed to be nominated in the Best Actor category in the International Emmys 2021 for his role in Serious Men. He had tweeted about it, writing, “Wow !!!! #SeriousMen has got me a nomination for the prestigious #InternationalEmmyAwards in the Best Actor category. Congratulations Team #SeriousMen Director @IAmSudhirMishra.”
Nawazuddin has revealed how he found out about the great news. In an exclusive interview, Nawazuddin said that his manager broke the news to him. “When I got the news from my manager, I was in the middle of shooting a movie.” We double-checked to be sure it was correct, and then we rejoiced. When an actor is nominated for a credible award, there is definitely cause for celebration. “However, if you receive an award solely for dancing in a show, it has no significance,” he remarked.
