The worth of drugs has risen in the state. It has been revealed that not only cities, but also rural and remote areas, have become victims of drug trafficking.
Many reports have also revealed shocking Khusala. Scenes of Gujarati youth becoming addicted to drugs can be seen from time to time. On the other hand, a conspiracy to smuggle crores of drugs into India from the Gujarat coast has also been exposed.
A number of de-addiction centres are operating in the state to assist youth in overcoming drug addiction. Surat is home to one such Parivartan Vyasan Mukti Kendra.
Surat Addiction Rehabilitation Center’s project director claims that over 100 youths have visited the centre to quit drugs in the last six months. The majority of the young people were between the ages of 20 and 30.
“People who come to us for treatment don’t always tell us they’re using drugs,” he explained. However, after two to three sittings, they admit to being addicted to drugs, and we refer them to a doctor. We also offer them counselling.
