Indian Film Personality of the Year 2021 Award at the 52nd edition of the International Film Festival of India has begun with a grand opening ceremony in Goa today.
Veteran actor Hema Malini was conferred with the Indian Film Personality of the Year 2021 Award at the 52nd edition of the International Film Festival of India.
Hema Malini made her acting debut in 1963 with the Tamil film ‘Idhu Sathiyam’ and later on, entered the Hindi cinema as the lead actress of Sapno Ka Saudagar in 1968.
The festival started in Goa on Saturday – it will be held from November 20 to November 28.
The festival started off with a star-studded inaugural ceremony at Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Indoor Stadium, Panaji, Goa, with the presence of film personalities like Salman Khan, Ranveer Singh, Ritesh Deshmukh, Genelia Deshmukh, Shraddha Kapoor, amongst others.
IFFI this year will showcase over 300 films from across the globe.
75 Creative Young Minds of Tomorrow have been chosen, based on a competitive evaluation of skills in different fields of Film making, including direction, editing, singing, screenplay and others.
For the first time, we have invited major OTT players to participate in #IFF52 through exclusive Masterclasses, content launches and previews, curated film packages, and various virtual events via NetflixIndia, PrimeVideo, ZEE5India, justvoot, and SonyLIV said Union Minister for I&B and Youth Affairs & Sports Anurag Thakur.
The festival is conducted jointly by the Directorate of Film Festivals (under Ministry of Information and Broadcasting) and the Entertainment Society of Goa, Government of Goa. The festival provides the perfect platform for understanding and appreciating the film cultures of different nations in the context of their social and cultural ethos.
