Ahmedabad: More than three crore people in Gujarat are now fully vaccinated against Covid-19, only the third state in the country to achieve the landmark.
According to Co-WIN data, the number of people who have received both doses of the Covid-19 vaccine in Gujarat crossed three crore on Tuesday afternoon. At 8:00 pm, the number of fully vaccinated recipients was 3.01 crore, or 61% of the eligible population of 4.93 crore. Gujarat has administered 7.53 crore vaccine doses, including 4.51 crore who have received at least one dose.
Gujarat is only the third state to have fully vaccinated three crore or more people. Leading the pack is Uttar Pradesh, which has administered both doses to 3.98 crore people and at least one dose to 10.29 crore. The country’s most populous state had administered 14.28 crore doses.
Maharashtra has administered 10.40 crore doses so far, including both doses to 3.42 crore people and at least one dose to 6.98 crore people.
Two other states are ahead of Gujarat in terms of overall vaccination. West Bengal has administered 8.54 crore vaccines, including 2.49 crore recipients who have been given both doses and 6.05 crore people with at least one dose. Madhya Pradesh has administered 7.63 crore doses. This includes 2.60 crore people who are fully vaccinated, and 5.03 crore who are partially vaccinated.
Nationally, 113.7 crore doses have been administered. Just under 38 crore people have been fully vaccinated, and 75.71 crore partially.
