Ahmedabad: There was a hoax call made to the Ahmedabad Police stating that some suspicious people were hiding in a mosque in the Saraspur area of Ahmedabad and speaking in an unfamiliar language.
According to a report, teams of three police stations – Kalupur, Shaherkotda and Madhupura – rushed to the mosque after the call was received.
The police teams reached and checked the mosque but did not find any suspicious person or thing inside.
The incident happened a day after a ‘high alert’ was issued in Ahmedabad on the basis of a report by intelligence agencies warning of the possibility of a terror attack in Gujarat.
Ahmedabad Police Commissioner Sanjay Srivastava issued a notice on Wednesday directing officials concerned to remain vigilant and take note of any suspicious activity in their respective jurisdictions.
