Ahmedabad: About 180 passengers heading out from Ahmedabad to Mumbai on the GoAir flight were stuck in the airport for four hours on account of a mechanical shortcoming in the airplane.
The flight was scheduled to take off at 8.45 am but was halted to check and fix a technical/mechanical fault. As a result, the flight finally took off at 12.35 pm, said a source close to the development.
Sources said the flight was on the runway and ready for takeoff. However, the pilot avoided taking off after noticing some mechanical defect. Finding and fixing the fault took a long, delaying the passengers by four hours.
The passengers were shifted from the flight to the terminal and were served refreshments.
GoAir’s Emergency Response Management general manager Ratnadeep Sur later said, “The Ahmedabad-Mumbai flight was delayed on Tuesday morning due to technical reasons. In the meantime, we gave refreshments to the passengers. The technical defect was repaired by technicians and the flight left for Mumbai at 12.35 pm.”
