Ahmedabad: The Common Admission Test (CAT) 2021, which is conducted for admissions to Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs), will take place on November 28, Sunday.
Registration for CAT 2021 closed on September 22, and approximately 2.3 lakh candidates have successfully registered for the test.
The institutes said in a statement the test’s format would remain the same as last year, i.e., there will be three shifts of 2-hour exams comprising Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension, Quantitative Ability, and Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning.
“CAT format changes were necessitated last year due to Covid-19 pandemic. The exam format and pattern will remain the same this year,” the institutes said.
The CAT committee is looking to reduce the number of questions across the three sections for the test to address the issue of time pressure faced by candidates in completing the exam last year due to the changes made. The test will be conducted at over 400 centres across 159 cities.
“Mock tests and tutorials to understand the format of the test will be available on the CAT website from the last week of October,” they said.
A three-day window for editing the photograph, signature, and test city preferences in the registration forms will be open from 10:00 am on September 25 to 5:00 pm on September 27.
The institutes clarified that the CAT 2021 process is to be conducted considering the Covid-19 crisis, and candidates are advised to regularly check the CAT website for the latest information and updates.
