Gandhinagar (IIT-Gn) secured 33rd rank this year (from 35th last year) in overall category and 22nd in engineering category this year (from 24th rank last year).
Gujarat’s educational institutions have significantly improved their rankings in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF)-2021 declared on Thursday. The delayed announcement brought in cheer for the state with three universities making it to the top 100 list in the pandemic year.
Indian Institute of Management retained its numero uno position in the management category among Indian B-schools. CEPT University climbed to 5th position in the
Architecture category while GNLU moved up a spot to secure the sixth spot in the Law category.
Indian Institute of Technology, Gujarat University- only state university to figure in the top 50 rank has also climbed the ladder up by one rank – to 43 rank in Universities category while it slipped two spots- at 62 this year.
City based St Xavier’s College has secured 57 rank this year, two spots higher compared to last year. National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research Ahmedabad secured 10 positions, two points down from 8th rank last year.
This year, the ministry of education’s survey covered 11 categories with the ‘research’ category included for the first time. IIT-Gandhinagar secured 39th rank in the category. Medical and Dental are the only two categories where no college from Gujarat has found a place in the list of top institutions.
