With the moderate to heavy rainfall predicition for the next five days in several parts of Gujarat, the state government on Tuesday has directed to deploy 8 teams of NDRF, mostly in coastal areas of Saurashtra and South Gujarat.
The state government has also asked seven teams of NDRF to remain standby. The fishermen are also advised not to go inside sea for next two days. IMD has predicted heavy rainfall in several parts of Gujarat from September 7 to September 10, 2021.
Amid IMD predicition several parts of South Gujarat including Surat, Navsari,Gandevi have recieved light to moderate rainfall. Surat received 2.5, whereas Navsari – 3, Palsana – 2, Olpad – 1.7 and Tilakwada recieved 1.6 inches of rainfall. Chota Udepur’s Nasvadi receive 1.8 inches, whereas Amreli and Rajula received one inch of rainfall on September 7.
Also the Ahmedabad city has also witness light downpour on Tuesday afternoon. Almost 70 talukas of Gujarat are likely to recieve rainfall. Gujarat is still facing 41 percent deficit compared to average actual rainfall in the state.
