Vadodara: A three-day survey conducted by the Vadodara Municipal Corporation on the epidemic in four zones of the city found 3 cases of dengue, 21 cases of chikungunya and 21 cases of diarrhea.
The survey found dengue cases in Diwalipura, Gokulnagar, Gotri, Akota, Gorwa, Tarsali, Kishanwadi, Makarpura, Navi Dharti, Maneja, Subhanpura and Kapurai.
During the three days, 12 teams visited 411 areas, inspected 6 houses and fogged 1116 houses. So far, notices have been issued to 203 construction sites. ૪ Hostels and schools were inspected. The survey on water borne diseases has so far covered a population of 4.5 lakh. So far 13 cases of diarrhea, 30 cases of fever and 14 cases of diarrhea and vomiting have been found. Outbreaks appear to be exacerbated during the monsoon season due to contaminated water and mosquito bites. Two cases of malaria have also been reported.
