Ahmedabad on Thursday recorded two new COVID cases even as four patients were discharged after being successfully treated for the disease. Neither the city nor the state recorded any COVID fatalities. The overall number of COVID cases recorded in the state was 19 of which the maximum was recorded in the corporation limits of Vadodara and Surat. Both cities recorded three new cases of COVID. At present, the state has 183 active cases of which six are on a ventilator while the rest are stable. The total fatalities due to COVID stand at 10,078 while 8.14 lakh people have been successfully treated for the disease. The recovery rate for the state now stands at 98.76%.As for vaccination, Ahmedabad city saw 36,466 people being vaccinated in a single day making it the top three cities/districts to have the highest number of people to be vaccinated in a single day. Overall 3.77 lakh people were vaccinated in the last 24 hours of which the maximum (2.13 lakh) were vaccinated in the 18 to 45 age group. All of them got their first dose of vaccination. The overall number of people who got their first dose of the vaccine in this age group now stands at over 15 lakh. The number of health workers and frontline workers who got vaccinated with the first dose in the last 24 hours was 15. So far 4.19 crore people have been vaccinated.
