After an inspection revealed that 10 bridges in Ahmedabad district were in poor or critical condition, the district Collectorate ordered the immediate closure of six bridges in Rural Ahmedabad. A notification was issued on Saturday outlining alternative routes to manage diverted traffic.
Here are the suggested alternate routes:
1. Navapura to Sanathal
Traffic from Navapura can take the Sarkhej-Bavla highway to reach Sanathal. For the return journey, vehicles can pass under the Sanathal circle bridge and follow the highway back to Navapura. To travel from Sanathal to Jivanpura, vehicles can go under the Shantipura bridge, take the Sanand highway, and pass through Telav village.
2. Bhat to Miroli
Vehicles from Bhat can use the canal approach road before Bhat to reach Mota Chhapra and then proceed to Miroli. Those returning from Miroli can travel via Bhatgam and Mandanpura to reach Mota Chhapra, and continue towards Dholka and Bakrol.
3. Navapura to Visalpur
From Visalpur, commuters can take the route via Bakrol circle, then proceed to Sanathal and Vaghjipura.
4. Chaloda to Saroda
Traffic from Saroda can use the Chandisar-Chaloda road, heading to Dholka Parshwnath circle to reach Chaloda.
5. Vasna Keliya to Chandisar
To reach Chandisar from Vasna Keliya, vehicles can travel via Kalikund circle to Kamod circle and continue along the Ahmedabad Highway.
6. Rajpur to Sathal
From Rajpur, alternate routes include the Rampur-Sathal road or Sahij-Sathal road to reach Sathal.
Authorities have urged commuters to follow the diversion routes and drive cautiously until the affected bridges are repaired or reconstructed.
