A 22-year-old woman from Ahmedabad, who had been missing for six years, has been found by the anti-human trafficking team from Khambhat.
She had disappeared from the Sarkhej area in January 2020, when she was 17. The Ahmedabad Crime Branch and Anti-Human Trafficking department had been investigating the case. Based on documents and leads, Police Inspector H. C. Zala began the search.
According to a media report, police got a tip that the missing woman was in Khambhat. Acting on this, they raided a location and found her with a man named Santosh Bhuvaji.
During questioning, she said that on January 20, 2020, she had gone out to buy gifts for her brother when her boyfriend, Surendrasinh, picked her up and took her to Dharamshala in Himachal Pradesh. She lived there with him for two years, after which they moved to Vadodara.
However, in Vadodara, Surendrasinh started abusing her, especially after drinking. Later, she got into a relationship with Santosh Bhuvaji and began living with him. The police finally found her at his place.
