In a mid-air scare on Wednesday, an IndiGo flight travelling from Delhi to Goa was compelled to make an emergency landing at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport due to an engine malfunction, according to sources familiar with the incident.
Flight 6E 6271, which was en route to Goa’s Manohar International Airport, was diverted to Mumbai as a safety precaution. Confirming the development, an IndiGo spokesperson stated that the aircraft followed standard operating procedures and landed safely.
“The aircraft is currently undergoing the required technical inspections and maintenance. A replacement aircraft has been arranged and will soon depart with the passengers to their intended destination,” the airline representative added.
No injuries were reported, and all passengers were safely accommodated for the continuation of their journey.
