In a suspected case of large-scale internal theft, a major Apple-authorised retail store located in Raspan Market, Ahmedabad, reported a misappropriation of Apple products and cash worth over ₹1.02 crore. The store’s own manager and a salesman are the prime suspects.
According to a media report, complaint filed by Dineshbhai Suvekshatbhai Parikh, owner of Green Management which runs the outlet, the company has been in the Apple retail business since 2006, dealing in premium Apple devices like iPhones, MacBooks, iPads, and accessories.
The incident came to light following a routine audit conducted on July 3, 2025, around 8:30 pm. Auditors discovered major discrepancies in both stock and cash. A physical inspection revealed that several high-end products were missing, along with ₹6.66 lakh in business cash.
As per the complaint, the missing items include:
- 85 iPhones worth ₹85.91 lakh
- 7 MacBooks valued at ₹8.99 lakh
- 1 iPad priced at ₹34,900
- 18 accessories (cables, chargers, adapters, Apple Pencils) worth ₹52,100
- Cash amounting to ₹6.66 lakh
The total loss was pegged at ₹1.02 crore.
Parikh named store manager Kuldeep Singh Jadeja and salesman Mayank Singh Jhala as the main suspects, alleging they siphoned off the products and cash without notifying the management or keeping any official records. The audit report supported these claims, noting that the missing items were neither sold nor officially transferred.
When questioned, both employees denied any knowledge of the missing stock and funds. However, the nature of the discrepancies indicated deliberate misappropriation.
The Nikol police have filed a case under charges of criminal breach of trust, theft, and criminal conspiracy. Preliminary findings suggest that the accused may have either sold the products off-record or handed them over to unknown individuals.
Given the scale of the theft, senior officials from the Ahmedabad Crime Branch are expected to assist in the investigation. CCTV footage from the premises is being reviewed, and statements from staff and external vendors will be recorded to trace the stolen goods. No arrests have been made so far.
