Residents in 17 wards across Ahmedabad’s North, East, and South zones will face water supply disruptions from July 9 to 11, the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has announced.
Areas likely to be affected include Maninagar, Isanpur, Indrapuri, Amraiwadi, Hatkeshwar, Bapunagar, Thakkarnagar, and several others. Limited water supply from the Raska plant is expected to particularly impact Vastral and Ramol-Hathijan in the East Zone, and Vatva and Lambha in the South Zone.
Water Committee Chairperson Dilip Bagadiya stated that the disruption is due to repair work on the Shedhi Canal gate, which has caused a drop in water levels and reduced the gravity-based water flow. To ease the situation, a limited supply will be diverted from the Kotarpur plant to all three affected zones.
During this period, evening water supply will be suspended, but residents will receive a restricted supply in the mornings. The AMC is working to minimize inconvenience and manage the adjusted water distribution.
