Panic gripped Vadodara on Friday after a second school received a bomb threat on the same day. Following an email warning of an RDX blast at Cygnus World School in Harni, a similar threat was sent to D R Amin Memorial School in Diwalipura.
According to a media report, the bomb disposal squad swiftly reached the premises and launched a thorough investigation. Classes were suspended, prompting anxious parents to rush to the school, further escalating the tension.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Panna Momaya led the team that inspected the school with assistance from the bomb squad. No suspicious items were found during the search.
Five threats in four months, no breakthrough yet
Despite multiple incidents, the police have yet to identify the source of the threatening emails. The timeline of incidents is as follows:
- January 24: Navrachana Higher Secondary School, Sama area, receives a bomb threat.
- June 23: Another threat is emailed to Navrachana School.
- June 24: Gujarat Refinery English Medium School in Karadiya village is targeted.
- July 4: Cygnus World School receives a bomb threat via email.
- July 4: D R Amin Memorial School receives a similar email threat.
Authorities are continuing their probe into the pattern of threats and the identity of the sender.
