Health officials are still searching for answers after 122 students from a school in Dehgam reported symptoms of blurred vision, eye redness, and watering eyes on Monday.
An investigation has been launched, and samples were collected from the school premises. However, even after 24 hours, the exact cause remains unknown. Authorities have assured that the cause will be identified once laboratory test results are available.
Preliminary suspicions point toward possible food contamination. Health experts suggest the symptoms may have resulted from food poisoning, possibly due to unclean vegetables or improperly cleaned wheat, rice, or pulses.
Another theory under consideration is the accidental ingestion of Para or Parad tablets, which are sometimes used to preserve grains. Experts speculate that these tablets might have been ground along with the grains, leading to toxic exposure.
Officials remain cautious, stating that a clear diagnosis will only be possible once lab reports confirm the source of the issue.
