Gujarat University’s decision to discontinue the Master’s in Social Welfare programme has sparked concerns among students. On Monday, members of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) staged a protest outside Vice Chancellor Neerja Gupta’s office, raising slogans against her.
Responding to the protest, Gupta explained that the course was discontinued because the ad-hoc faculty members teaching it had been transferred to grant-in-aid colleges, making it difficult to continue the programme.
