The sudden demise of actress Shefali Jariwala, best known for her appearance in the music video Kaanta Laga, has sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry. The 42-year-old was reportedly found at her Andheri residence on Friday (June 27), according to Mumbai Police. The exact cause of death is yet to be determined.
Following the news of her passing, several celebrities expressed their grief and paid heartfelt tributes on social media.
Himanshi Khurana, Shefali’s co-contestant on the reality show Bigg Boss 13, shared a throwback photo with the late actress and expressed her grief, calling the show ‘cursed.’ Taking to her Instagram story on Saturday, Himanshi wrote, “Bigg Boss, that place is cursed, I think.”
For the unversed, Bigg Boss 13 co-contestant Sidharth Shukla also passed away in 2021 after suffering a heart attack at the age of 40.
In fact, Shefali’s last post on X was made on September 2, 2024, on the death anniversary of her ex-boyfriend Sidharth. The caption read, ‘Thinking of you today, mere dost @sidharth_shukla.
Shefali Jariwala was rushed to Mumbai’s Bellevue Hospital by her husband, Parag Tyagi. According to Mumbai Police, they received information about the incident at 1 a.m. and have sent the body to Cooper Hospital for postmortem.
In a statement to ANI, police said, “Mumbai Police received information about this at 1 am. Her body has been sent to Cooper Hospital for postmortem. The cause of death is not yet clear.”
While initial reports suggest cardiac arrest as the possible cause, no official confirmation has been issued by the family or her representatives.
