To resolve long-standing complaints about delays in property assessments, the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) is introducing a new online application system to speed up the process of property measurement and billing.
Currently, assessments are done ward-wise every four years. However, many residents—especially those with newly built homes—have faced delays despite repeated follow-ups. In response, AMC has developed a digital platform that allows citizens to apply for property assessments on their own.
Revenue Committee chairman Aniruddhasinh Zala and deputy chairman Pradeep Dave said the new system is designed for those seeking quicker billing and measurement services.
Applicants can visit the AMC website to enter property details such as usage type, area, and upload necessary documents like sale deeds. Once submitted, the system will generate an estimated tax bill.
An AMC official will then visit the property within seven days to verify the documents and conduct measurements. A final property tax bill will be issued after verification.
