In a major administrative reshuffle on Tuesday evening, the Gujarat government transferred 13 senior IAS officers, implementing key changes across several departments.
- Ashwani Kumar (1997 batch) has been appointed Principal Secretary to the Sports, Youth, and Cultural Activities Department, replacing M Thennarasan (2000 batch). Kumar will continue to hold additional charge of the Legislative and Parliamentary Affairs Department.
- Thennarasan has now been made Principal Secretary to the Urban Development and Urban Housing Department.
- Ramesh Chand Meena (1997 batch), currently Principal Secretary of the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department, has been given additional charge of the Ports and Transport Department, relieving Ashwani Kumar of that post.
- Milind Torawane (2000 batch), previously MD of Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation Ltd (GSPC), has been appointed Principal Secretary for Panchayats, Rural Housing and Rural Development, replacing Manisha Chandra. He will retain his existing posts as Commissioner of Rural Development and Principal Secretary (Rural Development), as well as continue as MD of GSPC until further notice.
- Arti Kanwar (2001 batch), Secretary, Finance Department (Economic Affairs), will now also oversee Finance Department (Expenditure) as additional charge.
- Jenu Devan (2006 batch), currently Superintendent of Stamps and Inspector General of Registration in Gandhinagar, will additionally serve as Managing Director of Madhya Gujarat Vij Company Ltd, Vadodara.
- Prabhav Joshi (2014 batch), Rajkot Collector, has been moved to the Industries and Mines Department for appointment as MD of Tourism Corporation of Gujarat Ltd, replacing Saidingpuli Chhakchhuak.
- Tejas Parmar (2016 batch), current MD of Madhya Gujarat Vij Company Ltd, has been transferred to the Urban Development and Urban Housing Department for appointment as Municipal Commissioner of Junagadh.
Om Prakash (2016 batch) has been posted as Collector of Rajkot. - Ashish Kumar (2014 batch), Panchmahal-Godhra Collector, will now serve as Director of Tribal Development, relieving Supreet Singh Gulati of that charge. Kumar will also hold additional charge as CEO of Development Support Agency of Gujarat (D-SAG).
- Suthar Raj Rameshchandra (2019 batch), DDO of Dangs-Ahwa, has been transferred and appointed DDO of Narmada-Rajpipla, replacing Ankit Pannu (2018 batch), who becomes DDO of Jamnagar, replacing Vikalp Bhardwaj.
- Patel Anand Ashok (2021 batch), currently Project Administrator for the Tribal Area Sub Plan in Dangs-Ahwa, will take additional charge as DDO of Dangs-Ahwa until further orders.
These changes are part of the state’s ongoing efforts to optimize administrative efficiency and governance across departments.
