A film director from Ahmedabad’s Naroda area has gone missing, and authorities suspect his disappearance may be connected to the tragic Air India plane crash in the city on June 12.
The missing man has been identified as Mahesh Kalawadia, also known as Mahesh Jirawala. A resident of Naroda, he was known for producing music albums.
His wife, Hetal, shared that Mahesh had gone for a meeting in the Law Garden area that day. “He called me at 1:14 pm to say the meeting was over and he was heading home. But when he didn’t return, I kept calling him—his phone was off,” she said.
A police complaint was filed, and during the investigation, it was found that his phone’s last location was about 700 meters from the crash site. The device went out of network around 1:40 pm, the approximate time of the crash.
Neither his car nor his phone has been recovered so far. “We’ve submitted a DNA sample,” Hetal added, “to help authorities determine if he was among the ground victims of the crash.”
