Ahmedabad’s Bhavya Chirag Jha has secured All India Rank (AIR) 8 in NEET UG 2025, the results of which were announced on Saturday. Talking about his success, Bhavya said, “I just wanted to score good marks in NEET UG 2025. I never thought about getting an All India Rank while preparing.”
The 18-year-old cleared the tough medical entrance exam on his first attempt. He started preparing for NEET UG when he was in Class 11. Since then, he dreamed of studying at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi. Now, he is confident that his dream will soon come true.
Bhavya scored a percentile of 99.9996379. When asked about his inspiration, he said his elder brother, Sarvagya Jha, motivated him the most. Sarvagya is currently working as an intern at GMERS Medical College, Sola, Ahmedabad. “My brother guided me throughout my preparation. He gave me notes, warned me about the challenges, and encouraged me whenever I felt low, especially after mock tests,” Bhavya said.
Unlike many students who take a gap year or switch to open schooling for NEET UG, Bhavya continued his regular school studies as a day scholar. He balanced school and NEET UG preparation through proper time management. “After school, I finished my homework and attended offline coaching at Allen Institute. After coaching, I would revise the lessons and practice questions,” he shared.
Attending school was a refreshing break for him, where he met friends and played volleyball to relax and refresh his mind.
For Bhavya, AIIMS New Delhi has always been the top choice. “Every NEET aspirant dreams of AIIMS. The faculty, their experience, and the practical exposure offered there are unmatched. I have heard from my teachers that the environment at AIIMS helps students get excellent practical learning,” he said. His second preference is Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research (JIPMER).
When asked if he felt he was missing out on fun because of his intense study schedule, Bhavya replied, “No, I never felt that way. I knew that if I work hard for two years, I will have better opportunities than my friends later.” Interestingly, Bhavya also mentioned that he does not even have a social media account.
