A shocking incident took place in Surat, Gujarat, where two labourers were stripped and brutally beaten by textile traders who suspected them of theft. The incident happened on June 10 and was caught on camera.
The traders locked the two victims inside a shop, stripped them, and beat them with sticks. They also recorded the entire assault. The matter came to light after one of the victims, Jitu Vagh, filed a police complaint.
After receiving the complaint, Surat police acted quickly and arrested two of the accused. In total, four people were involved. Surat Police also shared a video on its official X (formerly Twitter) account showing the assault and the arrest of two suspects at the crime scene.
According to reports, Vagh told the police that he had gone to Ring Road looking for work in textile markets. While he was speaking to his friend, four men approached them, started abusing, and assaulted them.
The attackers dragged the victims to a shop named Nandini Creations, closed the shutters, and then stripped and beat them. Vagh said that they were also forced to falsely admit to stealing. He suffered a fractured hand in the attack.
