According to a media report, the rave party was busted in Surat’s Dumas area, where seven people, including four women, were arrested. The Gujarat Police’s State Monitoring Cell carried out a major raid at Aashirvaad Farms while the illegal party was happening.
According to the police, the party was taking place in room number 114 of Aashirvaad Farms. During the raid, they found a large amount of MD drugs and foreign liquor. The total value of the seized liquor and drugs is about ₹1.84 lakh. Around 5 grams of MD drugs were also confiscated.
Such incidents have happened before, showing a repeated problem of illegal drugs and liquor being sold and used.
Even though Gujarat has banned the sale and drinking of liquor since 1960, it is still one of the top 11 states in India for liquor seizures. Despite the strict ban, large amounts of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL), beer, and country-made alcohol continue to be smuggled and sold in the state.
In another recent case in March, drugs like hybrid ganja, MD drugs, and charas worth ₹3.45 crore were seized in Ahmedabad.
