Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS ) officers on Friday recovered a Digital Video Recorder (DVR) from the wreckage of the Air India Dreamliner that crashed shortly after takeoff from Ahmedabad airport, claiming dozens of lives.“It’s a DVR, which we have recovered from the debris. The FSL (Forensic Science Laboratory) team will come here soon,” said an ATS official at the crash site.Unlike the crash-proof black box, a DVR is typically used to store CCTV footage and is not built to withstand severe impacts. While it may provide visuals of passengers boarding or ground activities before departure, investigators say the critical answers still depend on the recovery of the aircraft’s black box, which remains missing.
