“The spirit of Russia Day is not only about celebrating national achievements but also about extending friendship and opportunity. These scholarships are a reflection of Russia’s commitment to accessible, world-class education for deserving students,” said Mr Manoj Patki, official representative of EDURUSSIA, the authorised Indian admission partner for Russian government universities.

These scholarships will be awarded by various Russian government universities based on academic merit, entrance qualifications, and performance indicators. With limited quotas per institution, universities are offering tuition and ancillary fee waivers ranging from 20% to 100%, significantly lowering the financial barrier for Indian students.

The announcement comes at a crucial time when Indian families are exploring credible, NMC-compliant international options, especially in light of evolving recognition policies affecting medical degrees from several other countries in Asia.

Russia remains a preferred destination for medical education among Indian students. For over three decades, the country has welcomed students from more than 70 countries into its MBBS, engineering, business, and research programs. Degrees from Russian government universities are widely recognised across Europe, Asia and beyond, with many including a European Appendix that enhances global employability.

Indian students benefit from Globally benchmarked curricula, Experienced faculty, Extensive clinical exposure, Multicultural, inclusive campuses, Safe and stable study environments. The academic bridge between the two nations was first built in 1991 when North Ossetian State Medical Academy admitted its first batch of Indian students. Since then, thousands of Indian graduates from Russian universities have gone on to become doctors, professors, and healthcare professionals globally.

Some of the top Russian universities preferred by Indian students include First Moscow State Medical University (Sechenov University), Pavlov First Saint Petersburg State Medical University, Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia (RUDN University), North Ossetian State Medical Academy, Tambov State University etc.

These institutions are recognised for their academic consistency, affordability, and student-friendly infrastructure and now, merit-based scholarships further enhance their value. Despite global geopolitical shifts, Indian students in Russia continue their studies without interruption, thanks to exemplary features such as smooth visa processes, fully operational universities, and families actively participating in convocation ceremonies, underscoring the normalcy and security in Russian cities.

With recent NMC advisories and regulatory updates prompting Indian families to reassess options in countries like the Philippines and China, Russia has emerged as a stable and transparent alternative for medical education.

EDURUSSIA, the officially authorized admission partner of Russian government universities in India, as endorsed by the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in India, has facilitated the admission of thousands of Indian students to premier Russian institutions over the last 25 years.

With expert counselling, verified university partnerships, and transparent admission processes, EDURUSSIA continues to shape the future of Indian healthcare by empowering the next generation of medical professionals.
