Air India Flight AI-171, a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner bound for London, crashed during takeoff from Ahmedabad’s Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport on Thursday afternoon. The incident took place around 1:38 pm, just moments after the aircraft began its ascent.

Preliminary reports suggest that two minutes after takeoff, the plane’s rear hit a tree, causing it to veer off and crash into a BJ Medical College and Civil Hospital building near the airport.
