A fire broke out on Monday morning in the computer lab of R B Institute of Management Studies (RBIMS) in the Hirawadi area of Ahmedabad around 11:45 am.
Ahmedabad Fire and Emergency Services (AFES) quickly responded by sending three fire trucks from the Naroda division. Six firefighters managed to control the fire within an hour, stopping it from spreading to other parts of the building.
Early reports suggest the fire started from a computer and spread to nearby desks and electronic items. Officials believe it may have been caused by a short circuit, but a detailed investigation is still going on.
Thankfully, no one was injured. All students and staff were safely evacuated as a safety measure.
A senior AFES officer said the fire was limited to the lab and they are now checking how much damage was done to the equipment and building.
