Starting June 2025, all CBSE-affiliated schools will include positive affirmations in their morning assemblies to help improve students’ mental and emotional well-being.
According to a recent CBSE circular, students will begin their day with simple and uplifting affirmations like:
- I am always happy
- I eat healthy food; my body is perfect and disease-free
- My memory and concentration are excellent
- I am calm and stable in every situation
- I use gadgets only for studying
- I respect everyone. I respect nature.
The board believes that repeating such phrases can boost confidence, focus, and emotional strength. Schools have been asked to include 1–2 affirmations daily, make them age-appropriate and value-based, and even display them in classrooms or on bulletin boards.
Schools can also use affirmations in their own language and style, as long as they promote values like empathy, courage, and self-worth.
CBSE said the aim is to support students’ all-round growth—not just academically, but emotionally too. School principals and students have supported the move. A student from DAV International School shared that affirmations like “Today is going to be the best day of my life” help him stay focused even on busy days.
