The Gujarat High Court received a bomb threat through email on Monday, leading to the suspension of court work after lunch and the evacuation of the building.
Police closed all entry and exit gates of the High Court in the afternoon. Ahmedabad City Police, including the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad and Zone 1 officials, rushed to the spot to check the premises. The cyber cell has also started investigating the source of the email.
The Chief Justice ordered court proceedings to stop, and the Registrar General asked all lawyers and visitors to leave the building quickly.
Police said the entire court building, including courtrooms, is being searched. So far, nothing suspicious or any explosive material has been found.
