In a harrowing account that has sent shockwaves through the local community, a 15-year-old girl has come forward with allegations of repeated sexual assault and physical abuse by her cousin Noman. The incidents reportedly took place over the past two months at her residence in Vatva, Ahmedabad.
The victim, Seema (name changed), lodged a formal complaint at LG Hospital, where she was taken for treatment following severe abdominal pain. In her statement, she detailed a series of assaults that began shortly after she attended a wedding on December 25, 2024.
According to the complaint, the abuse began when Noman allegedly entered the kitchen while she was washing dishes and physically assaulted her. The victim recounted that Noman threatened her life, warning her not to disclose the incidents to anyone.
This intimidation continued, with Noman reportedly forcing her into sexual acts on multiple occasions, including a particularly distressing incident on June 3, 2025, when he allegedly assaulted her again at their home.
Following a visit to a wedding in Narol later that day, the girl refused to return to the accused’s home. When confronted by Noman’s mother about her refusal, the victim disclosed the alleged abuse.
The woman then reportedly beat her and issued death threats, further traumatising the minor. The complaint also names the woman for allegedly threatening her and physically assaulting her after learning of the abuse.
Seema described the fear instilled in her by Noman, stating that he would often threaten her with violence if she dared to speak out. The psychological and physical toll of the abuse has left her in a state of distress, prompting her to seek medical attention.
In response to the allegations, the Vejalpur police station has registered a First Information Report (FIR) and initiated an investigation into the matter. Based on the victim’s detailed statement, a case has been registered under various IPC Sections along with Sections of the POCSO Act. The police have arrested both accused, Noman and his mother, in the matter, and further investigation is going on.
