In the third round of RTE (Right to Education) admissions in Gujarat, 2,231 more children got seats in private primary schools. This round was held on Friday.
For the academic year 2025–26, 94,798 seats were available in 9,814 unaided primary schools across the state, in different mediums like Gujarati, English, Hindi, and others.
The RTE Act, 2009, reserves 25% of seats in private schools for children from weaker sections.
So far, 93,270 students got seats in the first and second rounds, and 85,744 of them confirmed admission. After these rounds, 9,157 seats were still vacant.
Out of 82,448 students who didn’t get admission earlier, many were allowed to choose schools again from June 2 to 4.
- 31,391 students chose new schools
- 51,057 kept their earlier choices
Now, after the third round, 6,946 seats are still vacant, including:
- 624 in Gujarati-medium schools
- 4,238 in English-medium schools
- 1,919 in Hindi-medium schools
- 165 in other mediums
Students who got seats in this round must go to their allotted schools and submit documents by June 13 to confirm their admission.
