A serious case of cheating and forgery has come up at the Sports Club of Gujarat in Naranpura, Ahmedabad. A man named Yatinbhai Shah, who returned from the US and now lives in Girdharnagar Society, has filed a police complaint against his relatives.
Yatinbhai said that his late father, Navinchandra Shah, was a member of the club since 1972. After his father passed away in 2022, Yatinbhai went to the club to transfer the membership to his mother’s name. But he was shocked to find that the records showed photos of his nephew Dhaval and Dhaval’s wife Sejalben instead of him and his wife.
He accused his nephew Dhaval Shah, Dhaval’s wife Sejalben, and their son Falak of misusing the membership by faking documents and signatures. He claimed that Dhaval had forged his signature to get a new membership number in 1983.
The complaint also says that in 2006, Falak applied for a junior membership by using a fake birth certificate that wrongly named Yatinbhai as his father. This was used to get another membership under false information.
The club showed the fake birth certificate to Yatinbhai when he asked for the records. Based on this, he filed a complaint saying his identity and family links were misused in a planned way.
Naranpura Police have registered a case and are investigating under sections related to cheating, forgery, and criminal conspiracy.
