burglars stole ₹6.90 lakh from five offices on Corporate Road in Ahmedabad. The theft happened in one night at Ashirwad Paras Complex.
The thieves broke in from the back by damaging iron grills and windows. They took cash from safes and drawers.
Pratapbhai Chunibhai Thakkar, a railway contractor from Gandhinagar, owns an office on the third floor. He locked his office on Saturday night, but on Monday morning, an employee told him about the break-in. The burglars had broken the back window and took a bag with ₹5 lakh cash meant to pay labourers from the office safe.
The burglars also stole ₹20,000 from the nearby office No. 302 owned by Ramchandrabai Tiwari. At office No. 303 of Kalyansinh Rana, they broke in but did not steal anything.
On the second floor, the thieves took ₹1.60 lakh from the safe in office No. 206, owned by Prabhubhai Saradva. They also stole ₹20,000 from office No. 201 belonging to Ruchikbhai Gandhi.
In total, the burglars stole ₹6.90 lakh from five offices. There is no CCTV footage of the thieves, so Anandnagar Police have started investigating to catch them.
