Nashik Kumbh Mela 2025 Starts on October 31- See Amrit Snan Dates and Main Events

The Maharashtra government has announced the dates for the upcoming Simhastha Kumbh Mela in Nashik and Trimbakeshwar. It will start on October 31, 2025, and last for 18 months, making it the longest Kumbh Mela ever held in the area.

After a meeting with 13 Akharas and important religious leaders, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis shared the schedule.

For those who don’t know, the Simhastha Kumbh Mela is one of the biggest Hindu religious gatherings. It will begin with the flag hoisting (Dhwajarohan) on October 31, 2025, and end on July 24, 2028. This is the first time the Kumbh in Nashik and Trimbakeshwar will last for 18 months. Many sacred rituals and holy baths (amrit snan) will take place during this festival. According to Chief Minister Fadnavis, projects worth ₹2,000 crore are ongoing to improve infrastructure, control crowds, and keep the Godavari River clean.
