Gujarat saw a big increase in its GST revenue this May. The state collected ₹6,265 crore, which is 20% more than the ₹5,234 crore collected in May 2024. This growth is also higher than the national average GST growth of 16% during the same time.
Apart from GST, Gujarat also earned Rs 2,783 crore through VAT, Rs 1,137 crore from electricity duty, and Rs 22 crore from professional tax in May.
In total, Gujarat collected ₹10,244 crore in May from GST, VAT, electricity duty, and professional tax. The state has been collecting over ₹10,000 crore every month since January this year.
Under the GST Amnesty Scheme 2024, the state got applications for 10,643 eligible cases. By May, 60% of these cases were cleared, and dues were recovered in more than 6,400 cases.
