A bag is more than just a place to carry personal belongings; it offers a unique window into their world. From beauty essentials and health must-haves to thoughtful keepsakes, what they keep speaks volumes about their routines, values, and the little comforts that help them navigate their demanding schedules.
&TV actors also open about the meaningful items they never leave home without.
These include Smita Sable (Dhaniya, Bheema), Himani Shivpuri (Katori Amma, Happu Ki Ultan Paltan), and Shubhangi Atre (Angoori Bhabi, Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai).
Smita Sable, who portrays Dhaniya in Bheema, shares, “One of the most essential items I always carry with me is a bandage. It might sound unusual, but this habit began after a spot boy once got injured on set, and I happened to have a bandage in my bag. I was able to help immediately, and that moment made me realise just how important it is to be prepared. Since then, I have made it a point to carry some basic first-aid items wherever I go. Alongside that, I have a few beauty essentials that I cannot do without, like a hydrating lip balm, a compact mirror, and a kajal. A quick touch-up can do wonders and make you feel fresh and camera-ready. I also keep a small bottle of rose water; it is my go-to for feeling refreshed and rejuvenated between scenes. And of course, I never forget to pack a handful of almonds. They are my energy boosters during long hours of shooting. My bag may appear simple outside, but it contains everything I need.”

Himani Shivpuri, who plays Katori Amma in Happu Ki Ultan Paltan, reveals, “My handbag is like a little treasure chest full of things that serve both practical and emotional purposes. One item I always have is a packet of biscuits, not for myself, but for the street dogs I encounter on my way to the set or while travelling. Feeding them gives me an immense sense of peace and joy. It may be a small gesture, but it holds great meaning. Apart from that, I always carry my reading glasses and a good paperback novel. I love reading during breaks on set as it helps me relax and recharge. I also have a small pouch of homoeopathic medicines, something I have been accustomed to for many years now. A scented handkerchief is another staple in my bag; it is a habit I picked up during my theatre days and have held on to ever since. Naturally, my bag also contains essentials like a hand sanitizer, wallet, comb, and dependable lipstick for quick touch-ups. Every item in my bag has a purpose and a story, which makes it so special to me.”

Shubhangi Atre, who portrays Angoori Bhabi in Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai, shares, “One of the most cherished items in my bag is a small crystal, a thoughtful gift from a close friend who believes in energy healing. While I may not follow the practice deeply myself, this little crystal has stayed with me for years. It gives me a surprising sense of calm and balance, especially during hectic shoot days. Another item I treasure is my mini diary. It is filled with affirmations, inspiring quotes, and personal reflections. Whenever I find a quiet moment, be it during travel or in between takes, I flip through its pages, and it instantly lifts my spirits and grounds me. These two items are like emotional anchors for me. I carry a light floral perfume that helps refresh my mood, a skin-hydrating spray to stay fresh between takes, and sachets of herbal tea, which I love sipping during long shoots. My go-to nude lipstick is always in my bag for a quick touch of glam, and sunscreen is a must-have, especially during outdoor shoots. All these things help me feel centred, energised, and ready for the day ahead.”
