A major fire broke out at Purvi Tower, a high-rise residential building located in the Gurukul area of Ahmedabad, on Thurssday. The blaze reportedly originated on the ninth floor, possibly due to either a gas cylinder explosion or a blast in an air-conditioning unit. though the exact cause is yet to be confirmed.
Ahmedabad Fire and Emergency Services (AFES) rushed to the spot soon after receiving the alert and have launched firefighting operations. Thick plumes of smoke were seen billowing from the building as fire tenders battled the flames.
