A student of Nirma University in Ahmedabad went through harassment by a Rapido bike driver
After she was allegedly harassed by a Rapido bike driver, she filed a complaint with the Chandkheda police on Thursday, which allegedly led to no action.
The student lives in a rented apartment near Nirma University, usually, students opt for bike rides over auto and cab to get an affordable and timely ride.
On May 15, she booked a bike ride through Rapido to reach her university. The bike rider picked her up, and the ride lasted 5-7 minutes. During the ride, the rider allegedly behaved inappropriately.
While passing from the Ambedkar Open University to the ATS Office Road, even though the road was smooth, the rider deliberately tried to make physical contact. Despite this, the student initially ignored the behaviour. Once she reached Nirma University, she paid the fare of ₹37 via Google Pay by scanning the QR code.
