Amid a sea of global celebrities showcasing luxury fashion at the 78th Cannes Film Festival, Indian actress Ruchi Gujjar stood out by making a deeply cultural and patriotic statement. Instead of opting for a conventional couture look, she chose to wear a specially crafted necklace featuring the image of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. The bold accessory, rooted in national pride, sparked widespread buzz and instantly drew attention, setting her apart from the typical red carpet appearances with a gesture that celebrated her Indian identity.
At the Cannes 2025 red carpet, Ruchi Gujjar made a striking impression by showcasing her cultural roots through a regal gold lehenga designed by Roopa Sharmaa. The ensemble featured intricate mirror work, traditional Gota Patti, and elaborate embroidery — a tribute to the timeless craftsmanship of Jaipur.

She paired the lehenga with a matching blouse that featured a bold plunging neckline and detailed zardozi embroidery. Adding depth to her look was a handcrafted Bandhani dupatta created by designer Ram of Zaribari. Embellished with Zardozi and Gota Patti accents, the dupatta paid homage to Rajasthan’s rich textile traditions. “Wearing this dupatta felt like I was draping the soul of Rajasthan,” Ruchi said in a statement.
Though her outfit was undeniably stunning, it was Ruchi Gujjar’s striking necklace that captured everyone’s attention on the international red carpet. Featuring the face of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the bold accessory stood out not just for its design, but for its symbolic weight. Crafted with intricate Rajasthani motifs and styled to reflect PM Modi’s iconic appearance, the necklace merged traditional artistry with a strong statement of national pride.
“The necklace is more than jewellery—it’s a symbol of strength, vision, and India’s rise on the world stage,” Ruchi said. “By wearing it at Cannes, I wanted to honour our Prime Minister, whose leadership has taken India to new heights.”

Ruchi paired her bold necklace with matching earrings, a maang tikka, and traditional bangles. She also applied red alta on her hands, adding a cultural touch.
Her makeup was fresh and glowing, with highlighted cheeks, soft pink lips, and shimmery eyes. She finished the look with a neat middle-parted bun.
