Actress Urvashi Rautela, who recently graced the red carpet at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival, grabbed headlines after experiencing a major wardrobe malfunction. She was spotted walking in a torn dress, a detail that sharp-eyed netizens were quick to notice.
Several photos and videos of Urvashi flaunting her second look at Cannes 2025 have now gone viral. The Daaku Maharaj actress wore a semi-sheer black gown with a billowing bottom by Naja Saade and strutted down the red carpet of Cannes Film Festival on Sunday. However, netizens pointed out how her dress was torn near her left armpit, and wondered how was the faux pas allowed on such a massive platform.
One user wrote, “Isko wahan ke zoo mein daal do, we don’t want her back here”, while another added, “Will she ever get tired of overdressing, over makeup, over acting, basically over doing everything??? Matlab baalon mein jhoomar, haath mein tota, dress ke naam par kaaleen, aur make up palette mein jo bhi tha sab hi laga liya. Had hai ekdum. Is there absolutely nobody to stop her from being a disaster EVERY SINGLE TIME.” “What in the world is that entire look?”, questioned another netizen. Criticisng the look of Daaku Maharaaj actress, one more comment read, “Giving ‘Moulin Rouge meets Mayur Vihar’ realness.”
“First Indian to have a torn dress at Cannes (sic),” a netizen commented, while another wrote, “She is having a string of bad luck . First her dress got stuck in the revolving door, then she ended up on the carpet looking like a parrot, carrying a parrot, now she turned up in a torn dress. First Indian actress to suffer a series of bad luck in Cannes (sic).”
“Wearing something like this on Global platform is so unacceptable (sic),” a user stated, while some also wondered if it was all a publicity gimmick.
Urvashi too shared photos of her look on her Instagram handle, but all from a different angle, seemingly trying to hide the torn part of her dress. The actress is yet to comment on her wardrobe malfunction at the Cannes.
Earlier, Urvashi Rautela faced heavy trolling for her “parrot” look at the opening ceremony of Cannes 2025. She wore a vibrant fishtail-style gown with a strapless neckline and a dramatic tiara, accessorised with a crystal parrot clutch from Judith Leiber worth Rs 4.68 lakh.
However, the look didn’t sit well with netizens, and some reports even alleged that Cannes organisers asked her to step aside from the red carpet as she was taking more time than allowed.
