A Teenage girl from Junagadh is set for a showdown in the Wimbledon under-14 tournament in London.
Jensi Kanabar recently won the ITF Asia 14 & U Development Championship 2025 Week 2 title, defeating Tsai-jung Chiang of Taipei in a thrilling comeback: 1-6, 6-3, 6-4.
“She now heads to the Road to Wimbledon and the Asian team’s European tour—big dreams backed by big performances,” wrote the All India Tennis Association in a Facebook Post.
Jensi is expected to represent India in the Under-14 category at the Wimbledon Tennis Tournament in July 2025.

Born to a sports enthusiast and teacher, Deepak Kanabar, Jensi grew up a tennis prodigy. Kanabar, originally from Dolasa village and currently residing on Zanzarda Road in Junagadh, began Jensi’s training in tennis when she was four years old.
Initially, she practised at the local gymkhana. After the COVID-19 pandemic, Deepakbhai built a professional tennis court on Chaubari Road for her to practice, where she now trains for 7 hours a day. Jensi, who has just passed Class 8 and is entering Class 9, has mastered the sport of tennis.
Recently, she won two gold medals in two Under-14 tournaments organised by the ITF Asian Development Programme held in Delhi. With this outstanding performance, Jensi was selected to participate in the Wimbledon tournament. Her father, Deepakbhai, mentioned that it was her brilliant performance in Delhi that earned her a place in this prestigious tournament.
Jensi will represent India in the Under-14 category on behalf of the Asian Tennis Federation at the upcoming Wimbledon tournament in London this July. Deepakbhai also shared that Jensi is the youngest champion in India in the Under-14 category and is currently ranked number one in Asia’s Under-14 tennis rankings.
