Thousands of vehicle owners in Gujarat, including more than 260 from Ahmedabad, have been relieved after the Transport Department cancelled wrongly issued e-challans caused by a technical glitch.
Between April 15 and 17, a software error in a central system based in Odisha led to 9,741 vehicle owners receiving e-challans despite having valid vehicle insurance. This caused confusion and concern, forcing many to visit RTO offices to clear up the issue.
