Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the nation at 8 p.m. today regarding Operation Sindoor. While he has previously spoken three times about the Pahalgam terror attack, this will be his first address specifically on the ongoing military operation.
Earlier on Monday, Air Marshal AK Bharti, Director General of Air Operations, briefed the media on Operation Sindoor, which was launched by Indian Armed Forces on May 7. He clarified that India is targeting only terrorists and their support systems—not the Pakistani military.
During the briefing, a video was shown displaying the destruction of Pakistani arms depots. Bharti stated that if the Pakistani military suffered any losses, it was because they chose to intervene.
Ahead of the Prime Minister’s address, the Director Generals of Military Operations (DGMOs) of India and Pakistan are scheduled to hold talks at 5 p.m. today to discuss the understanding reached between the two nations on May 10.
Meanwhile, Srinagar airport, which had been shut due to the recent cross-border tensions, has now reopened. Flight services are set to resume from May 13.
In a separate development, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah met the grieving family of two children who were killed in shelling by Pakistan in Poonch.
