A complete blackout was enforced across Jammu late Thursday night as tensions between India and Pakistan continued to escalate. Sirens blared throughout the region, adding to the atmosphere of heightened alert.
Former Jammu & Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah took to social media platform X to share that intermittent sounds resembling blasts were being heard in the area. “Sporadic explosion-like noises continue to be heard,” he posted, reflecting the anxiety prevailing among residents.
The blackout, seen as a precautionary security measure, comes in the wake of increased hostilities at the border, including drone activity and cross-border strikes. Security forces remain on high alert across Jammu and other sensitive regions.
